Bread Winners Cafe & Bakery at 3301 McKinney Ave., 5560 W. Lovers Lane in Inwood Village and at 8687 N. Central Expressway, Suite 1608 in NorthPark Center celebrates Mardi Gras with King Cakes and other bakery treats. Creoles celebrated with the bal du roi (king's ball), where they served a fancy cake with a bean inside. Still a tradition, a small plastic baby has replaced the bean. King Cakes, iced sugar cookies, cupcakes and cake balls will be available for walk-in sales on Friday, Feb. 17.
